As a makeup artist and lover I was very intrigued when I happened to stumble upon the Joe Fresh makeup line while grocery shopping at Loblaws a while back.
I was really curious and thought it would just be low pigment cheap stuff since the prices were SO low. Well you know what they say, never judge a book by its cover because the more I play around with this line the more I really like it.
One of the items I decided to test out was their cream lipstick in Cinnamon - $6.00 cdn It looks a lot darker in the picture and in the tube but once applied it goes on really creamy and more of a coral nude colour. I adore the nude lip look so I was sold!
It isn't long lasting by any means but it I like the moisturizing feeling it leaves on my lips which is HUGE for a anti-lip anything girl like me.

I decided this morning to pair it with my Lorac lipgloss in Attrax (on right) and this is the look I got.
Here is a swatch of just the cream lipstick.
Here without the flash which is more of the true colour.
Here with the flash to show you just how shiny and creamy the texture is.
I have a few other items from the Joe Fresh line including a few eyeshadows ($4 each) which in my opinion are pretty pigmented, the fine liquid eyeliner pen ($6 each) which I use everyday because it is the easiest and fastest way to get my eyeliner perfect with one swoosh I highly recommend this for personal use only though and a few other random items.
Also I wanted to test out their brush line so I purchased the foundation brush @ $12.00 cdn and I gotta say I went back for seconds! I now have 2 of these, one personal and one in my kit. This brush gets a lot of compliments from my clients because of how soft it is so if you are looking for an inexpensive brush to apply your foundation I would recommend this one.
My only gripe with this line is that its never properly stocked at Loblaws. I have been waiting to buy a new eyeliner pen for ages with no luck! Granted I haven't searched other locations but if this is your stores brand shouldn't you keep it stocked properly??
Conclusion: I'm not sure if I would stock pile this entire line in my kit but I have no problems with using what works. That being said I personally use these products (foundations and powders excluded- haven't tried them) and am happy with them thus far so Id say give it a shot... at these prices you really cant go wrong!!

great post Farah! I haven't tried the lipsticks but have sent some off to some UK girls in a swap ;-)
I want this colour now though I don't need any more lippies for a while. The Joe cheek tints are nice too -- the peach one and the bronzer.
I will have to check out the brushes. I avoided them thinking they wouldn't be good...

P.S. Are you still up for the Toronto blogger meet-up? Would Aug 30 work for you?
Joe Fresh has some really good items. I like their cheek tints & I have that exact lipstick (on me the colour not that great) looks good on you. Recently I bought an eyeshadow too & it held up well & does have good pigment for a low-budget line.
What's this on a Toronto blogger meet-up?:)
I really love when you come across a cheaper brand and the quality surprises you!
There really is nothing like a bargain!
