Cost Effective Makeup Remover.

Don't want to spend $20 on a makeup remover that actually works?

Try Nivea Visage Extra Gentle Eye Make-up Remover.

It has been especially developed for the sensitive area around the eyes. It gently removes mascara without leaving any greasy residue. So make-up can be reapplied immediately if desired. This light, mild eye make-up remover with soothing ProVitamin B5 gently hydrates the delicate eye area.

How does it work?

Place a tiny bit on a cotton pad and sweep eye area in a downward motion. The gentle eye make-up remover effectively removes, with the aid of its oil-free formula, eye make-up quickly and effectively. Bonus: make-up can be reapplied immediately!

I love this eye makeup remover so much I bought one for myself and one for my kit! It removes my waterproof mascara even when I wear 3-4 coats!

They happen to be on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart for $4.99 (regularly under $10) at the time which in my opinion is an amazing deal!

A product that actually works AND that's super cost effective =

photoshoot #2 Teaser Pics

Here are the latest pics from my photoshoot this weekend

I had 3 models, 2 female and 1 male, a photographer and a hair stylist and her assistant all at my condo for the shoot. I managed to snap these pics but none of the male model yet so Ill just have to wait for the professional pics to come in.

We spent about 6 hours on the shoot and took well over 1000 pics. I'm super excited but for now here are some teaser pics that I took with my camera and my Blackberry.

Summer Makeup Trends for 2009

Summer is a time to be playful, have fun with color & keep things light and fresh.

Its also a great time to simplify beauty routines. Many people become more active with the warmer weather and do not want to layer on the makeup. Summer makeup should look fresh, clean, simple and even playful, it shouldn't take you hours to apply this look.

Keep your foundation light and breathable with a tinted moisturizer with SPF. Tinted moisturizers are ideal for almost any skin type. They hydrate dry, mature skin while adding enough coverage for the average wearer. If skin is normal to combination, a tinted moisturizer will provide coverage and hydration without melting or running down the sides of the face. While oilier skin types need moisturizer, tinted moisturizer might not provide enough control or coverage for a full day out and about. Instead oily types should stick to a light powder foundation.

Try:
Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20.

This season, eye makeup is bold and bright. Colors like bold teals, seductive violets, and sweet and chic greens are popping up all over.

Try:
- Mac Cosmetics Aquadisiac

- NARS Single Eye Shadow in Tropic

Always updating my skills!

I've recently been booked for a few weddings and although I feel confident I wanted to be 100% sure I knew enough about bridal, so I contacted the very talented Kavita Suri. She is well known in the Indian makeup industry, owns her own spa at the age of 29 and is also a makeup instructor.

I met up with her on the weekend and basically picked her brain! She was super sweet and very knowledgeable and I learned a lot.

So bring it on ladies! If you or someone you know is getting married and is looking for a hard working, talented & up to date makeup artist send them my way :)

Want your eyeshadow to stay on ALL day? Heres how...

Do you ever notice that your eyeshadow starts to fall or fade by 3pm?

Do you have oily lids that wash away the vibrant colours you love to wear? Or Do you have dry lids that get even drier with powder shadows so nothing sticks?

The way to solve this problem is to use a base. There are several bases to choose from here are a couple I like.

1) Urban Decay's Primer Potion. - It goes on sheer and helps shadow stay put. A little goes a long way so simply use the applicator to dab a little on your lids, smooth out with your ring finger and then apply shadow. This is available at Sephora for approx $18.00 Cdn + tax.
** While I like this product and have a lot of friends that use it, it isn't my preferred base.

2) Mac Cosmetics Paint in Bare Canvas - This is a champagne colour with a little bit of shimmer. MAC’s Paint is a high tech eye shadow product that comes in a wide variety of shades. It has a creamy texture for easy application but then dries to a smooth, slightly shiny, reflective finish. The paints can be applied with a brush or just with your finger. Be careful not to try to apply to much at a time - A little goes a long way! You can buy this item at any MAC Cosmetics counter for approx $20.00 Cdn + tax.
** I use my Bare Canvas paint a lot on myself as well as models for photoshoots because it dries to a powder form but really seems to hold the shadows I put on top well. I also like the fact that it has a bit of shimmer because since I take it from the lid all the way to the brow bone it can act as a highlighter as well.
Note* while this shade works well on most skin tones it may show up lighter on some darker tones. Still a very pretty look in my opinion!

3) Gosh Cosmetics Waterproof Stick Eyeshadow in Love that beige. - Its silky and creamy eye shadow stick that's easy to apply. It has lasting quality that stays on for a long time without melting, therefore it is perfect for those that have problems with watery eyes. This product is a new type of eye shadow, ideal for athletes, as it is waterproof. Due to its high melting point, the eye shadow will keep well even in warm weather conditions. All shades have a very nice pearly effect. The creamy consistency is easy to apply on the eyelid. This item can be found exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada for approx. $12.00 Cdn + tax.
** I love this stick! Its a cheaper option that works just as good as the mac paints for holding shadows on. I generally scribble this all over the lid all the way up to the brow bone and then use a flat brush to smooth and even it all out.
I haven't tried any of the other shade but I'm a huge fan of this line and I'm sure they are stunning.

So there you have it 3 different ways to help keep that shadow in place all day long. :)
