The wooden spatulas are disposable for a reason!
Why is double dipping not ok?
Wax is heated only to the point that it will melt and do the job effectively without scolding you which isn’t hot enough to kill bacteria or any viruses! Dipping the spatula back into the wax can potentially pass bacteria to each new client. What can happen if a salon double dips?
Anything from HIV, Hepatitis B and C, warts, conjunctivitis, bacterial and fungal infections can occur.Be aware of your surroundings next time you go to get waxed and don't be afraid to ask!
If you are still worried try threading its generally a lot more hygienic just be sure they use a new string!

This SHOCKED me. I can not believe how unhygenic that is and how nonchalant salons are in doing this. Great topic :)
I have been telling people this for years!!! I have a HUGE problem with this at salons! I suggest buying your own wax and taking it in with you each time (but then you have to wait for it to heat up)....but it's well worth it!
Yes. Don't double dip, its like putting your WHOLE mouth to the bowl. LOL
Wow...I had no idea. I started paying more for waxing becuase I've noticed the cheaper places aren't as hygienic, but I didn't know about the double dipping, I'll be sure to watch out for it the next time I'm in the salon. I'm too chicken to say anything though, so I'll probably just not go again if I see them double-dip.
