Introducing LUSH’s FIRST Color Collection, Emotional Brilliance - Swatches

LUSH has always been a big favourite of mine for its natural bath & body products but they really took a special place in my heart with the launch of their first ever color collection Emotional Brilliance!

This line consists of 13 liquid lip colors ($22.95), 11 liquid eyeliners ($22.95), 6 cream eyeshadows   ($22.95) and 3 Skin products that include 2 primers & 1 powder ($18.95)and is less about wearing makeup that’s in-season or on-trend and more about wearing colors that shape your mood.

I recently got a sneak peek sample of an eyeliner (Motivation), shadow (Focus) and lip colour (Perspective).

Focus (eye shadow), described as a iridescent blue grey comes across to me more grey than blue with a hint of shimmer to it that makes it look really pretty in the light which I really like. It blends well when blended quickly but dries fast so you need to work quick.

Motivation (eyeliner) is described as a two-toned peacock shade. Its such a pretty shade and applies very smooth and consistent. The brush is very soft so there is no pulling of the lid and so fine that it allows you to draw even the thinnest line.

Perspective (lipstick) a natural dusky rose shade is such a gorgeous color. It comes with a doe foot applicator and goes on quite nicely however I did find it a bit dry. Nothing a little gloss cant fix right?! I can totally see myself wearing this lipstick into fall when I'm going for natural, soft & pretty.

Keeping with their reputation LUSH's Color Collection is absolutely worth checking out and is in stores now so will you be checking it out?

Karma's a B*tch But She Sure Smells Good Thanks To LUSH Cosmetics

What am I talking about? The Karma Collection By Lush Cosmetics of course!

Lush's Karma scent has got to be one of my favourites. I have used the perfume stick ($10.95) almost daily since I got it and I cant help but catch myself thinking throughout the day how much I love it.

Its scent is made up of amazing ingredients such as lemongrass, pine and orange oil and sinks into the skin leaving you smelling amazing for hours. I have to say I'm pretty impressed, I'm not usually into solid perfumes but this one is tiny, a little goes a long way and I love that I can pop it into my purse wherever I go and freshen up if I need to.

The Karma soap ($7.95) and bubble bar ($8.45) also pictured above are 2 forms of proven and classic lush products. The fact that they also come in this awesome scent... BONUS! The Karma scent can also be found in some of their other products like the bath melts ($6.95) and body lotions ($27.95)

I will say once I had read a review online that stated this perfume stick left an orange colour on the skin, so when testing this item I was sure to press it in to my skin to see if it was true. Well I'm happy to report its NOT true at all! I have never seen any colour left on my skin, in fact it melts on contact so nothing is left behind.

Its no secret I adore LUSH and its amazing products as you can see here by all my glowing reviews and so finding another scent I love from the brand is just another reason to shop there ;)

Lush products are available online or at a retail store near you.

Have you tried the Karma collection yet?

30 Fabulous Holiday Gift Ideas: #2 Lush Cosmetics Ocean Salt Cleanser

Holiday Gift Idea #2

 LUSH COSMETICS
Ocean Salt Cleanser

COCONUT CREAM, LIME AND SEA SALT SCRUB!

The antibacterial effects of lime and the trace of alcohol in the product is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. This cleanser was made with the idea of how ocean water makes your skin look after you have been on vacation "glowing".

I have been using this cleanser every other day for a few weeks now and really like the way it makes my skin feel. Yes, it leaves my sink a bit blue after I wash but its nothing a quick rinse of won't fix right?

What I liked:

  • That its all natural

  • That the company is against animal testing

  • Left my face feeling really soft and exfoliated

  • Felt like I get a deep clean every time I use it

  • Knowing if a little gets in my mouth as I'm rinsing that its ok because its natural and just tastes like salt

  • The "glow" effect it has on the skin after just a few uses (think about how your skin looks after swimming in the ocean)

  • A little goes a long way!

What I disliked:

  • The sea salt (top layer only) can feel harsh against your skin

  • Doesn't take off makeup

Who you should gift it to:
  • Anyone with oily, combo or normal skin
  • Anyone who's into natural products
  • Secret Santa gift exchange (who wouldn't love this and the 120g is under $20!)
  • Co-workers, classmates, friends & family

Suggested retail Price: $18.95 (120g) or $30.95 (250g)

Availability: Online, In any Lush Cosmetics store

Im a Lush......Fan (Part 2)

If you haven't read part one of my Lush product review please click here.

For part 2 I'm going to be talking about Lush's BIG shampoo. This is a natural handmade shampoo which contains such ingredients as sea salt which helps add volume, citrus extracts which help add shine and coconut oil for moisture.

Although the container isn't very big you don't need a lot of product to get that clean feeling. I have very long hair so I end up using about 2 quarter sized amounts or less but if your hair is fine or shorter you may only need a dime sized amount. It doesn't lather as much as a regular shampoo would however it does lather enough to feel like its working so that was good enough for me.

If your the type to wash your hair everyday I wouldn't really recommend this shampoo for daily use as I think it would strip your hair of some essential oils but as an every 2-3 day wash this is one great shampoo.

I was SO skeptical because I like feeling like my hair is super clean after a shower and I didn't think I could possibly get that feeling from this homemade stuff but boy was I wrong. I love the feeling this shampoo gives me and the fact that its all natural makes me feel like my hair is protected.

The formula is gritty from the sea salt and I find that not all the salt dissolves when you lather it up so you really have to rinse well but that didn't bother me to the point that I was annoyed. The shampoo has a scent much like laundry detergent which I didn't care for much but it wasn't overly offensive.

This was as much lather as I could get on my hands and you can see that it didn't totally dissolve.

This shampoo is now a staple in my house and can only improve the texture, feeling and quality of my hair so I would give this product a thumbs up and recommend it to anyone looking for an all natural shampoo that actually leaves hair feeling amazing!

Have you tried this shampoo?

Im a LUSH...... Fan! (Part 1)

Ive wanted to try out some Lush Cosmetics products for honestly years but just never got around to it. It seems that Lush stores are few and far between in Toronto however I was recently at a mall that happened to have a Lush store and made my first purchases.

I bought the BIG shampoo (which ill talk about in my part 2 post), some soap since they had a 3 for 1 deal and this Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

I had heard good things about this cuticle butter online and since getting my bio gel nails taken off 9 months ago my nails and cuticles have been horrible. I was somewhat surprised to see how small the container was when I saw it in person, its about 2.5" width and 1.5" deep or high.

At a cost of $11.95 cdn + tax I asked if I could test it out before I purchased and without batting an eye the helpful ladies at the store showed me the tester. Once I felt the texture I quickly realized that the small size wouldn't be such an issue because a little bit goes a very long way with this product.

I brought it home and have been using it every night before bed. I LOVE the lemony scent and the fact that you can also use this product on areas like elbows, heels and toes as well as your cuticles.I have begun to notice that I no longer get dry sometimes painful skin around my nail beds and my fingertips now feel like they are getting some much needed TLC!

I love how they show you who your product was handmade by :) makes it almost feel personal.

The consistency of the butter... its like Shea butter

I would recommend this product if you have been looking for something to help your dry cuticles or even any other dry area that isn't too large because this is a thick paste that would take you forever to cover lets say dry legs lol.

It smells wonderful and does a fab job. What I love even more about LUSH is that they have a back to Lush program kinda like Mac does. If you return any 6 black containers such as the one this cuticle butter is in you get a free face mask!

I would love to hear about your Lush experiences and fav products or your thoughts on this product as well.

Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow where I review the BIG shampoo!
xoxo
