Mary Kay's Winter '11 Eye & Lip Liners New & Improved!

Mary Kay launches their New & Improved Eye & Lip Liners for Winter 2011.

These compact eye liners ($16) come in 7 of the seasons best shades from Rich Jade to Bronze to the classic Black. They are small enough to fit in your palm and need no sharpener with its twist up design making them one great travel companion!

These liners are waterproof, smudge-proof, fade resistant and super creamy so they glide on without effort. In the swatches below you can see that 3 of the shades (Bronze, Steely & Violet Ink) have a slight sheen to them which catch the light in the most pretty way.

The Lip Liners ($16) come in 9 shades with the newest being Soft Blush (shown below). The line also includes a clear liner...yes you read that right clear! Clear liners help seal lipstick in and prevent bleeding without changing or altering the colour.... brilliant right!

They are also a smaller size just line the eye liners which I love. No more struggling to fit long liners into your tiny makeup case or purse.

I couldn't be happier with the consistency and durability of these liners. I think I'll be rocking some of these jewel toned ones for our big holiday dinner this weekend and bet I'll be getting all kinds of compliments on them!

New Fav: Mary Kay's Fragrances - Affordable and Fabulous!!

Next time you are in the market for new fragrance take a second and check out the Mark Kay Fragrance Collection. Not only are these fragrances affordable ($30-$55) but they smell amazing. I have had the chance to try a few different scents and although I had plans to give the ones I didn't love away I can honestly say they will all be staying with me - greedy I know but I cant part with them, I love them that much! Because I love them all equally I cant pick a favourite but I can tell you these have been my go to fragrances for the past few weeks.

The Simply Cotton™ Eau de Toilette smells clean, fresh and like a very pretty and not offensive version of fresh laundry which I love.

The Forever Orchid™ Eau de Toilette is a really nice blend of florals and vanilla and works really well with my skins chemistry.

Exotic Passionfruit™ Eau de Toilette smells good enough to eat with a hint of citrus mixed with a complimentary sweet scent mixed in.

No matter which of the 10 scents you choose you can rest assured that you will be happy. The scents lasts for hours and are delightfully fragrant without being over powering. They make great daily wear, affordable scents that would also be great as gifts (hint hint mothers day!) or to add to your own collection.

Mary Kay hasn't left the men out of the mix. I'm sure the male fragrances are equally as divine and with Fathers day around the corner they make a great affordable gift that any dad would love!

Mary Kay Introduces the Fall 2010 Limited-Edition Metro Chic Collection to its consumers.
I have been testing the new collection for a new weeks now and I have to say yet again I'm super impressed with the quality Mary Kay continues to put into its products.

Mary Kay Vinyl Lip Shine $19 CDN

• Provides extreme shine and a glass-like finish
• Sheer yet pigmented colour offers buildable coverage
• Can be worn alone or layered over lipstick

I used the Audacious shade over matte red lipstick for a bridesmaid recently and it totally made her lips pop. I love that these glosses are buildable, highly pigmented and super shiny they make my job that much easier!

• Features three shades swirled together in one compact
• Blendable, transparent matte finish with a slight shimmer

I love these eye glimmers, they feel almost wet when applied and are so easy to blend. You can use it on its own to create a easy smokey eye or use it as a base as shadow sits really well on top. They are small and great for travel as powder shadows can break.

Mary Kay Liquid Eyeliner $17.50 CDN

• Felt-tip applicator provides control

• Quick-drying formula will not crack

Purple is huge for fall and this purple liner is just in time. Has a great felt tip for an easy cat eye!

Mary Kay Nail Lacquer $10 CDN
• Flattering, high-gloss
• Long-wearing nail lacquer in shades of red, deep purple and silver.

Love these colors and the texture of this polish. Everyone knows I suck at applying polish but with the consistency of these I found it easier than others to apply.

Mary Kay's Tropical Fruits Collection Just in time for Spring!

Mary Kay has come out with its limited edition Tropical Fruits Collection just in time for spring!
The collection includes 2 cheek glazes, 3 lip nectar's and a gorgeous dual shade cream highlighter.


The 2 cheek glazes retail for $20 each and come in 2 exotic shades, Mandarin & Pomegranate. They are infused with extracts or mandarin orange, watermelon, peach and vitamin E. They have a very sheer texture that is buildable and can not only be used on the cheeks but also the lips. The glazes have a gel texture that is super lightweight and no greasy which I like.

The Mandarin shade didn't really show up on my skin tone but that didn't stop me from finding a way to use it! I simply apply it as a base and then layer it with a powder blush which makes the color of the blush a lot bolder. This is a great solution if you own any blushes that aren't too pigmented, now you can find a way to make them pop!

The pomegranate shade was really nice. It can be subtle at first which I like for the days I simply want a bit of color but it totally buildable so you can make it as bold as you want. Its great for a work look during the day and when you add a bit more you're ready for a dinner date or party.

As you can see I have already been playing with mine!


The cream highlighter retails for $18 and has 2 neutral shades swirled together that makes it perfect for all skin tones. Again this product is buildable and can go from sheer to a night bright golden color. It is made with a skin conditioning formula that helps it glide on and illuminate the skin.

What I really like about this product is that its universal meaning I can use it to highlight areas of the face but also as an eyeshadow or a highlight to the brow bone. It blends well so really the sky is the limit and its such a stunning color that it would make a great eyeshadow base or an all over lid color.



The lip nectar's retail for $16.50 each come in 3 shades Coconut, Mango & Passionfruit. They are a moisturizing balm with the longevity of a lipstick! These pretty lip nectar's are infused with mango and shea butter, jojoba plus antioxidants such as apricot kernel oil and vitamin E to help hydrate the lips.

I really like the texture and feel of these lip nectar's, they are creamy and feel light yet are so pigmented that if applied with sparingly with your finger it could very well be used as a lip stain. I found the mango color a bit too orange for my skin tone but will totally be using it in my kit. My favorite has got to be the coconut shade as I am a total nude lip fan.

Overall this collection is great and includes a few wonderful basics. They all have a smooth texture and are lightweight which is key for me. I will be having a lot of fun with this collection over the summer that's for sure!
