Louboutin is said to be suing Yves Saint Laurent because they claim that YSL is ripping off their trademark red-sole. Louboutin has built an empire around its red soles and is worried by another fashion house introducing its own red soled shoes this spring, it may lead consumers to believe the shoe is part of the Loubie collection when in fact it isn't.
Let's compare shall we?
Louboutin's
YSL's
Similar? Yes..... but is it wrong enough to sue??Let's hear your thoughts....

Well the pair from YSL is completely red. I would understand if the designer of the shoe thought the shoes would be sexier if the WHOLE shoe is red.
I say, if its just one pair, let it go. Unless YSL is having a whole collection of red sole coming out, its not really worth it.
On another note, this scandal seems like another big free publicity advertisement for Louboutin?
I don't think the fuss is worth it. Free publicity?
The red sole is definitely the mark of a Loub, I can definitely understand the sensitivity to it. It's interesting because so many company have tried to use different coloured soles to sell their shoes, but alas no one can compare to the power of a red sole. :p
I think that this is fine because the entire shoe is red...but if YSL has this shoe in other colours still with the red sole, that would be trouble.
Hmm you ladies have a good point, if its a one of its not such a big deal but I agree if its the whole collection then thats not right!
I can definitely see why they would want to sue, and I think they have a good reason to as well.
