Sunday Feature: You Go Girl! Featuring makeup artist Kavita Suri!

Every Sunday I feature a blogger, artist, photographer, makeup artist, actress, socialite or all around awesome person on my blog in a feature I like to call "You Go Girl!" or in some cases "You Go Boy!".

This week Ill be featuring makeup artist, beauty editor, business owner & all around fabulous lady Kavita Suri.

Kavita and I go back about a year or so, where I contacted her for one of her 1 to 1 classes. I had just finished beauty school and wanted to get my foot in the south asian style door... I thought who better to contact than Miss Kavita Suri herself. I did & the rest is history as they say ;)

We have worked together, socialized together & chatted many times since then and I have yet to meet a happier more bubbly person! You will rarely catch Kavita without a smile and her signature go getter attitude that's so obviously gotten her to where she is today.

She is the owner of Kavita Suri Spa, a published makeup artist, the beauty editor for Asian Women Canada Magazine and now a fellow blogger.

Asking her to be a part of my weekly Sunday Feature was a no brainer for me and she was so sweet and very quick to answer all my questions. See what products she recommends and what she has to say about beauty and her career.

Who is Kavita Suri and why are you so fabulous?

I giggled when I read this question, not because it is silly, but because I am simply down to earth with a very blessed career. I am a individual that follows my heart and my inner voice to get to where I need to next in life. Many have business plans I have my spirituality...it hasn't failed me yet and never will!!!

Where can we find you on the world wide web?

I have my own website www.kavitasuri.com, also I can be google searched and you can see my first Vlog on YouTube!

What beauty product would you recommend and why?

The first thing that came to mind was skin care over make-up. It is so important that you take care of your skin in order to get a flawless make-up application. I really believe in Skin Care Inside & Out...so it would have to be LOTS of Green Tea (to drink) and a good cleanser; right now my favorite cleanser is VICHY for normal to combination skin.

Do you have any "rules" about makeup/beauty you live by?

Keep it simple!!! Work with your features in a graceful way, over doing it is sooo out of style.

Youre in a huge rush, what one beauty product do you grab?

Concealer: Vasanti Cosmetics Liquid Cover Up V3

How did you get your start in beauty?

Passion

Nay, because it looks FAKE!!!

Are there any makeup or beauty faux pas you really really cant stand?

Yes! Over doing blush Not blending your eyeshadow Maroon Lipstick during the day

How did you get involved with Asian Women Canada Magazine?

Tarn, the Publisher, approached me to do a photo shoot for their first issue last year and it developed from their with my position as Beauty Editor :)

Was there a product you bought due to word of mouth hype that you just weren't pleased with once you tried?
