Did You Know Tomorrow is World Diabetes Day? #Equalcanada #CBias

Did you know that there are more than 9 million Canadians are living with diabetes or prediabetes, and that number is increasing? With November being National Diabetes Month, what better time to talk about preventative measures, and the importance of managing the disease. 

I'm sure we all know someone who is affected with the disease (for me it is my cousin) and at this time there is no cure available, so having a proactive approach to the disease is the only way to properly treat Diabetes.

The 4th annual Report on Diabetes comes out November 10th for World Diabetes Day, 

which is on Nov 14th. The 8 page spread, available in The National Post as well as online, will discuss prevention and diabetes management. 

For this edition they are featuring former wrestling superstar Bret Michaels (who also stared in The Apprentice) as their cover story, he will be discussing his battle with Type 1 Diabetes.

This year, Equal is being featured exclusively as the only artificial sweetener in this publication. Equal will have a spread with a recipe (woohoo!) in the National Post on Nov 10, in conjunction with their 8 page feature for World Diabetes Day.

You may know Ive been in search of Equal sweeteners in some of my past coffee adventures and would love to see it available in more establishments as it is an acceptable part of a diabetics diet. Here's a fact for you: Substituting traditional Equal products for sugar in coffee* and on cereal* each day will save an unbelievable 20,440 calories per year.  *based on 2 teaspoons of sugar in coffee and 2 teaspoons of sugar on cereal each day I have been on more of a health kick for the wedding but also to better myself and to make sure I live better.
