The solution? Blotting papers or sheets such as Shiseido's Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers ($18) found at Sephora or Clean and Clear's Oil Absorbing Sheets (approx $8) found at Wal-mart or your local drugstore.
Not only will these sheets eliminate excess sebum and shine but they are super compact and can fit in even the tiniest bridal clutches!

I love the Clean and Clear ones. I've also heard Sarah Jessica Parker say that in a jam she uses those toilet seat covers. Hah!
I would be lost without blot sheets, it's so much better than piling more powder onto an oil slick.
